I think this is as good as it is going to get this year. I had grand plans to decorate, but between the puppies, Michael’s finals, and not owning any decorations, all I managed was a mini-tree and some lighted garland on the mantle. And a little gnome-santa Michael’s brother bought for me in Germany.

We had a little 4-foot tree last year in our apartment, but our entire apartment fit into the kitchen and family room of our house, so it was a bit grander if you will. It sits on a table so the puppies can’t eat it, as much as they would like to. I got the ornaments and garland for like 90% off at Target 2-years ago.
I also tried to be creative with some bows…not so sure about it.
My dad came by and dropped off my parent’s old tree (which may or may not have a top). I will also get a collection of ornaments. I received an ornament every year from my parents, grandparents, and great grandma (until she passed a few years ago). 3 ornaments x 20+ years=we need a bigger tree.
Michael also bought a bunch of LED Christmas lights that were 50% off at Kmart, but didn’t make it up. AKA he started and realized he went the wrong direction to plug them in. It started drizzling, and that was enough reason to not finish. So, no outside decorations.
I will be going clearance shopping after the season to prepare for next year. I would also like to make one of these cuties. Now I just have to get through this year’s Christmas shopping…Any other good easy decorating tips/ideas/things I have to buy?
